Last year, I was able to participate in a very rewarding experience for the first time and was so excited to get picked again for Random Acts of Zhu. This year, I decided to find a different charity to help and put my mind to work on who would be a good fit for the fabulous donation of Zhu Zhu Pets and accessories. I finally decided on Foster & Adoptive Care Coalition. In short, they help find foster homes for children that need them and make those stays with foster families as pleasant as possible. They hold training events that give foster and adoptive parents an entire day to be with those that are in similar situations and deal with some of the issues that go along with being a foster/adoptive parent. There really is just so much I could tell you about this charity and it was such a joy to get to know all of the friendly people that worked there. I am going to write more about them over the next few months so please come back and see all there is to know… because they are truly an amazing organization and I am so enthralled with them and their mission.
For the RAZ campaign, I was able to give 24 sets (Zhu Zhu Pet, activity and accessory) to Foster & Adoptive Care Coalition that they are going to give to some of the foster children that come through their doors. Dawn Belizaire, the Director of Major Gifts, was kind enough to give me a tour of the facility and the adjoining resale shop [RE]FRESH. Dawn stated that they were so excited to get this donation because, often, kids in foster care do not get new toys or gifts the way other children do. I felt right at home in the office and was welcomed to come back whenever I am in the area. I feel so blessed to have found this charity and I know they are so worthy of this gift and many more for the great work they do.
I wanted to extend a huge thank you to Cepia, LLC for giving me this opportunity. It was a truly rewarding experience for me and my family to be able to give the Zhu Zhu Pets to the Adoptive & Foster Care Coalition this year. I feel so honored to be chosen.
Disclosure: All items were sent to me to be donated by Cepia, LLC. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
