There are a lot of changes coming to my household. Â I don’t want to get into the details and the whole story but, basically, we will be moving soon. Â We are going to be renting a house (hopefully find out exactly where very soon) and it is going to be a big change for my family. Â We rented in the past and I remember all the things that you had to go through when getting an apartment. Â This time, though, we will be renting a house.
One thing that has always happened in the past is a credit check.  I know there is a place that you can find a credit report for landlords and I assume most landlords do use that.  In addition to the credit report, I am fairly certain that they will be checking our criminal history and will verify employment.  I get why they need to do this… they have to protect their investment.
I can’t wait to just get the whole process over. Â I am praying we get to work with the same landlord we had years ago. Â He was a great man and a super kind landlord. Â He currently has an application of ours for a house and I really hope we hear something about it this week.
I wonder how it will feel to not be responsible for every broken thing in our house again. Â We will, of course, take care of the lawn and minor problems. Â But, if we have a major issue (like the electrical system that was messed up in our first rental house), we won’t have to pay to fix it. Â If the garage door breaks, it isn’t our problem (unless it is our fault). Â There are definitely positives and negatives to renting. I will miss my house terribly but sometimes you just have to go forward and not look back. Â That is what I am trying to do.
Keep us in your thoughts that we get the house we are hoping for! Â I’ll be sure to let you know what happens.
