It has been some time but we have decorated our house in the past. I think it was easier when we weren’t in a two-story home because, prior to our living here, we decorated outside every year. Since living here, we haven’t put lights up on our house but one time. That has been an issue though because, growing up, I had lights on my house every year and I have always wanted the same for my kids. Being that I am not a huge fan of getting up on the roof though, I have to rely on my husband to do the outdoor lights and I haven’t found a way for him to do it. It is time though.
All the kids (except Jemma) are old enough now to know that other people have lights. They want them and ask for them. They get excited to see other people’s homes. I want them to be excited to see our house! My husband has finally agreed to put lights on our house and I couldn’t be happier!
This is going to be a big task though. Thanks to Collective Bias, I have an opportunity to go to Sears and do some shopping for outdoor lights. I have my heart set on LED lights but I am not quite sure yet what we will find. We are going tomorrow… Black Friday!!! I know they have some great deals and you all know that I go for the deals. Today, we started preparing to go shopping.
So, that is what we are going to do! We are going to figure out just how many feet of lights we need and head to Sears tomorrow to get them. I will be updating within the next week with all that we buy and show you the finished product. I am so excited to have lights this year… but not near as excited as my kids are!
What holiday traditions do you have? Do you put lights up?
