Seventh Generation (Review and Giveaway)

It is that time of year… time for Spring Cleaning!  If you are anything like me, you are interested in cleaning products that are not only non-toxic, but also safe for the environment.  As each year passes and my kids get bigger, I realize the importance of keeping them safe.  I also know how important it is to keep our environment clean for our kids.  So, I was pleased to try Seventh Generation cleaning products!

Seventh Generation has figured out how powerful of a cleaning agent the herb thyme is.  This is accomplished through cleaning products that use the herb thyme to kill germs naturally.  The new line of botanical disinfectant cleaners includes a multi-surface cleaning spray, bathroom cleaning spray and wipes.

“The disinfectants contain thymol, a component of the herb thyme, and can be used on hard surfaces including counter tops, plastic cutting boards, highchair trays as well as children’s toys. Best of all, they kill over 99.99 percent of germs* naturally and are effective against the Influenza A Virus, including H1N1.”

“Seventh Generation has partnered with eco-lifestyle consultant and author, Alexandra Zissu, whose new book, The Conscious Kitchen, discusses what’s good for your health, what’s good for the planet and what tastes great. Her book also includes great tips on maintaining a green and healthy kitchen.”  You won’t regret reading this book if you care about the environment you live in.  You can change the environment and the world we live in simply by starting in your own home; your own kitchen!

We are very pleased with the cleaning power of Seventh Generation products!  I was so surprised when I found out that the average American household has 63 hazardous chemical products in it.  With 5 children and several pets, that is a figure I definitely want to decrease in my home.  I can’t think of a better way than with Seventh Generation products!  One thing that I like especially is that my kids can use the wipes and I don’t have to worry about them ingesting bleach products.  We use a lot of cleaning wipes on the counters and table and using the Seventh Generation wipes certainly puts my mind at ease!

I also really love the paper towels that were sent to us.  They are made from 100% recycled paper and work just as well as any other product I have used!  They are hypo-allergenic and are free from dyes and chemicals.  I can even use those on the baby’s hands without worry.

I don’t think that I do enough to keep my family safe from chemicals. I lock up cleaning supplies and open windows and clean while my kids nap, but I’m just starting to try more natural ways of cleaning as I use up my traditional cleaners. We all suffer from allergies and as I’m prego I’m very sensitive to smell and can’t stand using the harsh stuff.

I don’t use harsh cleaners and the few we might have in the house are always locked up.

I try to avoid processed foods since they’re loaded with unwanted chemicals and preservatives, and I definitely do not by cleaners that are not safe.

We try to keep our family safe from chemicals by buying as much organic and all-natural as we can, especially cleaning products.
