I have been tracking my food since Friday. While I was confused a bit at first, my great friend Michaela gave me some tips and talked me through some of it. I now have a pretty good grasp on most aspects of the Momentum plan and have found a nice network of Twitter friends that are doing it as well.
My biggest hurdles are making sure I eat enough and eating the right foods. Since starting this, I have learned that my eating habits aren’t good (I skip meals) and that my food choices are rarely good. I now have a new understanding of what I need to be eating and how much. It is quite amazing how much a serving size is when you actually measure it out. I am hoping to get a WW scale at some point because I think it would be even more helpful in this process. After trying to use the points calculator on my phone while shopping, I think a hand held points calculator might be helpful too.
My big problem at this point is consuming enough points. Here is my dilemma. I feel like my points may be too high really. I have been trying to eat healthier and, by doing so, have fewer consumed points per day. At this point, in order to consume the points allotted to me a day, I am going to have to eat things that aren’t healthy. I am eating enough to be full all day so eating more frequently doesn’t make sense either. So, the plan is to continue doing what I am doing and see what happens. I know I am supposed to eat all my points and I will come close but I am not going to eat a bunch of junk to get there.
As you know, I am a cupboard cook. There is a recipe builder option for WW online that I love! I made a meal yesterday that was enjoyed by Tayler, Mike, and me that gave me a total of 8 points! I walked away from the table feeling satisfied and not wanting more. I am happy that I will be able to continue to cupboard cook, just maybe more sensibly.
On a side note, I would love if someone could make me a little button (I actually need a few but would be happy with just one) to use on these posts. I want to make my weight loss (hopefully) journey a regular part of this blog. It is a big part of my life and I would like to share that. If you know how to make buttons and would be willing to do that, let me know!
