On Tuesday, I woke up with a new pregnancy issue. I have been taking these things in stride (for the most part) but this one is quite debilitating. It makes my entire world spin… not literally but it certainly feels to be the case. I stand, I sit, I lay down… everything around me spins. What is this horrible problem? Vertigo.
I went to see my OB on Tuesday night about it. He set up some blood draws to see if there are any medical reasons for this happening. I also was able to see the little baby. 🙂 Everything looked great with the baby and we even got a sneak peak on the gender. I am going to keep that info a secret just a bit longer though. I have another appointment next Tuesday and my “big” ultrasound is on the 10th of June. I will share more then.
Anyway, I heard back from my OB today that my blood work came back okay. That means that, besides pregnancy, there is no reason that this should be happening. I spend my entire day feeling as though I am going to fall over and there is nothing they can do about it. I feel nauseous but am told I don’t eat enough. I am told to get some rest but I am the mom of a 2 and 5 year old…. some things are just not possible.
Hopefully this nasty problem gets better soon. I need to feel normal again.
Have you ever experienced Vertigo? Anything help it?

I dealt with it during my last pregnancy. Even though my iron levels didn’t appear low, I still supplemented some iron (just 1 floradix pill/day) and it totally helped!
I have had vertigo on a couple of occasions when I wasn’t pregnant, and it is the most awful thing! Sometimes particles from inside the ear can dislodge and fall into a part of the ear where they cause problems, though it isn’t an infection. There is an exercise that you can do to move the particles out of the way – more info here: http://www.ehow.com/how_2303034_treat-vertigo-brandt_daroff-exercises.html It may be that something else is causing your problems, but it’s worth a try.
No I haven’t had it. I am so sorry. It should terrible and I pray that you get relief soon.
wonder if you have an inner ear infection? Hope it goes away soon for you.
No, unfortunately not because that would be an easier fix. The problem appears to be because of pregnancy and the change in blood flow that occurs. 🙁
I have never experienced it, but did always have something unusual or ‘off’ happen with each preganancy. I hope you feel better really soon.
