I can’t believe that we leave in a few short days for New York City.  I am so nervous but excited at the same time.  I am going to miss Johnny and Joley like crazy but have set up Skype so we can see each other while I am there.  I know they will be okay and I am sure time is going to fly and it will be over before I even know it.  I have just never left my kids, especially for this amount of distance.

We received our travel plans and our flight is a few hours so I am hoping that time flies too.  Kenzie and I are right over the wing on the way there and I am excited to see how that experience will be.  On the way home, currently we are separated but I am hoping we can fix that or some nice person will allow me to sit with my daughter.  I am having a hard time right now figuring out if I want to check a bag or not.  I am thinking I might try to bring a small purse, my larger laptop bag that will hold my camera too, and then Kenzie to carry a backpack that holds our clothes.  Crayola has kindly said they would send her projects home and I might take them up on that.  I just need to make sure we have enough room for our stuff (plus anything I can pick up for the kiddos left home).

I know I won’t have time to do much outside of what Crayola sets us up to do.  But, I am thinking about getting up early on Sunday morning and heading over to St. Patrick’s Cathedral.  It is important to me to attend mass and I can’t think of a nicer way to do that than to go to a church with so much history.  If I don’t go, I will be attending Sunday evening when I get home.  I just think it might be a fun and spiritual experience for Kenzie and I to go to St. Patrick’s Cathedral.

Kenzie and I still need to go shopping for her outfit for Saturday and she has yet to start her project to bring with us.  I am now concerned it may not dry in time to take with us.  I hope it does though and will use a hair dryer if necessary to get it done.  We have been so busy and things are so chaotic that we have just not got the basics done.  We need to get busy!!!

I am bringing my netbook and will be on Foursquare and Twitter over the weekend.  Be sure you follow me for the latest of what we are up to.  I will be posting pics to Twitter as well whenever I can.  It is going to be so much fun, and despite my anxiousness, I am so excited to go!

How exciting for you both! I bet you’ll have a lot of fun.

Just an FYI – it is a little louder over the wing and you will hear lots of mechanical noises during take off and landing. =)

I can’t wait to read about your weekend!

We have sat next to the left wing, it is a good place to sit and safe. 🙂 You can still see a lot. It is so exciting, can’t wait to hear about it.

I never thought about Sunday morning. That would be incredible if we could go there. I would love it if we even just got to takes pictures of it.

I plan on bringing my laptop case, 2 carry on suitcases, a carry on bag and possibly a backpack. You can bring 1 carry on suitcase and 1 thing that fits under the seat in front of you per person.

My first time flying, I rotated between a few thoughts. 1. What an awesome opportunity it was. 2. The idea that such a huge thing can fly is amazing. 3. People fly everyday and it is no big deal. I kept telling myself these things over and over. I tried to force myself to read but I had a hard time reading.

Make sure that you look up what is not allowed through security now and remember that when you go through security you must pull your laptop out of the bag, pull out your toiletries in a little bag, and take your shoes off so you will want to make sure they are easy to remove. LOL

I have not received my hotel or travel to the hotel info yet either.

I am so nervous about flying. I am in California, so my flight is quite long and I am a newbie. My daughter Hailey has been on a plane a few times, so she will be able to help me and my other daughter Ariyona with the ropes of flying, LOL.

Have you received hotel info yet? I have not received it and hoped that I didn’t accidentally delete it with all the emails I get daily.

Anyhow, our trip is only a few days away and I can’t wait to meet you and your daughter.

No need to worry about the shadow box drying. I did one last night and it was dry in less then 30 minutes. They turned out super cute.

Libby and I might try to get away with just packing in 2 carry on bags but I’m not sure we can do it. I plan on getting things packed up between tonight and tomorrow to see how we are going to do it.

    Looking forward to meeting you!

Thanks for the shadow box info. I was beginning to worry about that! 😉
