We are a busy family… and when I say busy, I mean never-know-what-the-next-day-holds, am-I-going-to-lose-my-mind-tomorrow crazy. Sometimes, no matter how many calendars I have filled with important information, things are lost along the way and one person isn’t on the same page as the rest of the family. There are several people with cell phones but that really hasn’t solved this problem yet because of the time involved with texting each person and the composition of the messages.
I wanted to tell you about a new service that changes the dynamic of the family calendar forever. No more of the problems I have been having for years. Now, my family can all be on one page, all the time. CasaBlast is a new service that offers you the opportunity to organize your family all with one number. Does Tayler need to know that I won’t be home when she gets home from school and my husband will be at work? Do I need them both to tell me what they want for dinner? Does Tayler need to leave a message for both of us telling us that she needs to stay after school?
CasaBlast makes that all possible! You will be given a number to use when you register for a FREE account. You can use that number from any family member’s phone to send FamilyBlasts to other family members. Don’t have your phone handy? No problem! You can log into your account on your computer and send a message that way too! You can also set up groups if say, for example, you want to tell the kids something specific but you don’t need to tell anyone else.
The calendar feature is my favorite (and you can integrate another calendar function, like Outlook, to CasaBlast!). I recently found out that we are invited to a wedding. I want everyone to keep that date clear so that there are no “unexpected” problems. I simply added the date to the calendar and everyone in my account could be notified. Tayler and my husband both would receive this alert letting them know that they can’t make other plans. This works great for doctor appointments too. I make the appointment, add them to the calendar, and send the alert to my husband. That way he knows that his presence is needed at the baby’s doctor appointment (because I don’t like having to hold her down for shots. I am mean that way!)
You can leave voice mails for family members very easily too. Each person can pick up the voice mail with very little effort! Does your to-do list run the length of your house? You can now share those lists with your entire family. No longer can they tell you that they didn’t know that the windows needed to be cleaned or the car washed. They have the list at their fingertips!!!
If you have a forgetful and busy family like mine, this is a dream come true. No longer will I hear the excuse that they were never told about this or that. Everyone reads text messages so there is no reason for them to not be aware of any changes in our family. From day to day changes like “I’m going to stay after school” to the events that are months away like “the baby has a doctor’s appointment on the 25th, be there”, you will always have a way to communicate to your family members and it is easier than ever!
disclosure: I will be entered into a drawing for a Visa gift card through Mom Bloggers Club by writing my review of this service. I have not been compensated monetarily for this post and all thoughts and opinions are my own.

Wow! That sounds like a wonderful tool when my kids get older. For now it’s just my hubby and me keeping tabs on the schedule and I use google calendar.
