Angostura BottleRecently, we were sent some Angostura Bitters to try.  Since my drinking habits have drastically changed thanks to pregnancy, I decided I wanted to try the product in a recipe.  I looked online at the recipes but decided to make up one of my own (I know, you aren’t even surprised anymore, are you?).

My choices were limitless.  Angostura aromatic bitters are a natural flavor enhancer that is the “secret weapon” of many cooks.  It can be added for an extra zing and flavor intensity to a wide variety of everyday foods.  Add it to dressings, entrees, desserts and more for a special (and unique) flavor.

You can find Angostura Bitters in the liquor department of your favorite supermarket or a local liquor store.

Now, for my creation.

Angostura Bitters Burgers

Ingredients:

Hamburger

Yellow (or any other color) Bell Peppers, diced into small pieces

Shredded Cheddar Cheese

Parmesan Cheese

Salt and Pepper

Angostura Bitters (my bottle had 3.5ml in it but you can use more if you like)

Method of Preparation:

Mix all ingredients together.  Make into patties.  Grill.  Enjoy

Easy peasy and very yummy too!  Here are a few images of the Angostura Bitters Burgers:

All ingredients together
Thoroughly mixed
Patties are made
Grillin'

Your options are really only limited by your imagination. Next time you are at the store, you should pick up a bottle of Angostura Bitters and try it in an old recipe for a new flavor. Let me know what you think if you do!

Disclosure: We were given the product mentioned for the purpose of review. I will be compensated for my time. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
