I have mentioned several times over the past month that I want my kids to know the true meaning of Christmas. It is important to me for them to know that Christmas is about the birth of Christ and are familiar with the gospel story about Jesus’ birth.
Little Star by Anthony DeStefano makes this much easier for me and any parent that wants their children to know what Christmas is really about. The book, Little Star is the story of the smallest and loneliest star. All the stars are trying to compete to shine the brightest but the other stars don’t believe that a king would be born poor and in a shabby stable. Only Little Star knows what the king is about to bring to the world.
Because of his love and understanding, the Little Star burns himself so bright and so long to keep the baby Jesus warm that he burns himself out. But, is he forgotten? NO! We simply can look at the top of our Christmas trees to remember what he did for our Lord.
I recommend this book to anyone looking for another way to share the birth of Jesus with their children. It is well-written and has cute graphics. Both my kids and I love it and it is sure to be a repeat story year after year!
You can purchase Little Star yourself and the little ones in your life. Hurry so you can share this wonderful story this Christmas season.
