I have been part of the Diaper Pail test drive over the past few weeks. Over that time, I have been using the Diaper Genie pail and the Munchkin Arm and Hammer pail. I am going to share a bit about functionality and ease of use with you for these two diaper pails. Ready?
First up is the Diaper Genie II. I love the ease of use for this product. It truly is hands free and requires only the use of one foot to throw the diaper away. As far as ease of changing the bags, it isn’t as easy as the other but certainly not a hard thing to do. You basically cut off the end, retie the knot and start using again. I like that there are several uses per refill cartridge and it lasts quite some time.
Next is the Munchkin Arm and Hammer diaper pail. This pail requires the use of a hand to toss the diaper away. But, once you insert it into the bag, it is gone and the Arm and Hammer is automatically used. I like the ease of use for the refills. These are just bags. You close and seal the bag and slip it down into the bottom. When replacing, you just open a new bag and clip it into place. It is very easy to refill. Each bag requires a new bag but they are self-sealing which I like very much.
My verdict: For ease of use with disposal of the diaper: Diaper Genie II wins. For ease of use with changing the diaper bags: Munchkin Arm and Hammer diaper pail wins.
Stay tuned for the verdict on smell containment!
