Everyone in my house loves sweets. Even the baby, who shouldn’t be eating sweets will get so excited when given an animal cracker. So, when I found out about Late July Organic Snacks, I was excited!
Late July Organic Snacks is a family owned and operated company that cares deeply about family and the integrity of our products. Not only are all our products certified USDA organic and proudly wear the organic seal, but on any given day you can find three generations at work including six-year-old Stephen and two-year-old Benjamin.
Nicole Bernard Dawes founded Late July in 2003 with her father, respected entrepreneur Steve Bernard. When creating the Organic Mini Endangered Animal Sandwich Cookies, Nicole wanted her two sons to have whole grains and Calcium. Her sons wanted the cookies to have real chocolate and to help animals. They accomplished both!
Late July was kind enough to send us two boxes of their new Organic Mini Endangered Animal Sandwich Cookies. Here is a bit of information about them:
- Good source of whole grains (8g per serving)!
- Good source of Calcium (10% DV)!
- Good for the earth- they are organic!
- “Good for All” Seal – Dr. Jane Goodall’s seal for ethically produced products!
- 10% of profits are donated to Jane Goodall’s Institute!
Why did Late July choose organics? Their top 3 reasons are:
- Saving the environment
- Reducing health risks
- Supporting small business
“Every time I look at my children I think about what a responsibility it is to make snacks for other families. That is why we only make USDA organic products, openly share where our ingredients are coming from and I personally source the ingredients that we put into our products.” -Nicole Bernard Dawes
With such an outstanding concept I was ready to try the cookies. Johnny was so thrilled to see cookies coming out of the box. I immediately opened up the White Chocolate variety. Johnny and I checked out the cookies and were both happy to see animals on them! We had fun naming the animals (which are endangered animals listed on the back of the box) and then we both popped them into our mouth.
They are good! Johnny and my daycare child both ate them for lunch this past week and both really liked them and asked for more. Johnny has asked for these cookies over other sweet things we have. Both varieties we received are a hit!
Organic, good for them and taste good? Sounds perfect to me!
