I have had a lot going on around here. Obviously, right? Well one thing I haven’t shared is that I am trying to lose weight again. I had lost some before Jemma was admitted to the hospital. I gained over 10 pounds while there and then started to try again when we got out. I will admit that I don’t really try all that hard though. I mean, I watch what I eat… kinda. I don’t eat as much but that isn’t always done the right way. I have a treadmill but it hurts my knees. We found an elliptical in someone’s trash but I haven’t used it. Sadly, my joint pains are causing some difficulty with exercise too. I am working on a solution for that and will share more on that later. For now, I want to talk about my plans for the future.
Yeah, I have plans. Right now, I look outside and see slush, snow, and it is freaking cold. I dread going outside. Once the weather warms up though, I want to start walking again. I always enjoy walking around my neighborhood. If my joints get better, I hope to be able to walk at least a mile everyday. I want to get Jemma outside too. I love having my baby get some fresh air with me. So, I have started looking at strollers. My first stop was to view lightweight strollers from Britax. I have seen many bloggers talk about them and figured it was a good of place to start as any. I have checked out some jogging strollers too. I am still at a loss for what is best for me though. In time, I hope to make a decision.
I also plan on going back on my doctor’s prescribed diet. That is what I was doing before Jemma went in the hospital and it worked really well for me. I don’t drink regular soda (can’t give up diet yet) and I know I need to up my water consumption. I haven’t been drinking as much water as I did when I worked. I know I need to get back to that. I am using my FitBit again and keep track of my steps. I can’t wait until I actually meet my daily goals. I really will too!
But, back to now. It is cold. It isn’t fun to exercise by myself. What do you do during the cold months???
Disclosure: There is a sponsored link in this post but all thoughts are my own!

Losing weight needs discipline and dedication. Nice content you shared.
I agree with you, it is really not fun is it is cold, somehow we feel we should stay at home and keep our selves warm and have a good rest. But we should also think, exercise can make our body active and warm, I think that is a good reason to consider in order to fight the cold. Losing weight, some of is fail of this thing due to the reason they cannot manage to change their lifestyle.
In winters we can do indoor excercises which are very easy to like jumping, streatching, yoga and all. Eat healthy. We should use stairs instead of lifts or accelarator. Drink water as much you can. Avoid junk.
Good luck with your efforts!
I tend to gain weight easy and need to watch my food and workout.
I love xc-skiing and snowshoeing !
Well, there ya go. I wouldn’t and couldn’t. lol That sounds very exciting though!
I do not like to exercise either! We did start a new fitness program today, Fit2B and I like it a lot (yep, I can handle 10 minutes a day!)… Also working on changing our diet, and trying Trim Healthy Mama with our whole family. I really love their 1 minute muffin in a mug, especially since I have a hard time with eating breakfasts.
Good luck on your goals!
10 minutes a day sounds doable! Ha! I am just the type to go to the gym and work out for an hour. I am just too busy. And tired. And lazy. 😉
Good luck to you too!!!
Know what you mean on tired… I don’t think our family has recovered yet from my younger brother’s treatment for leukemia that finished 3 1/2 years ago.
