Go to Memphis? Yes please!
I was recently asked why I wanted to go to Memphis and told I could possibly win a trip there. It didn’t take me but a second to think of a number of reasons why I would love to visit Memphis. So, lucky you! You get to hear all about them.
Ready?
See this cute boy? His name is Elvis. I kid you not. Why did I name him Elvis? Well, I don’t know really except that I didn’t care for his adopted name (Ellis). Regardless, he is my Elvis.
So, wouldn’t it be super cool to say that I went to Memphis, home of “THE” Evlis??? Wouldn’t it be even more exciting to actually go to Graceland?!? I know my puppy would think that is pretty amazing.
Many, many years ago (seriously, it seems like forever), I went to Nashville. Nashville was supposed to be our first stop. We were partying it up in Nashville for New Year’s and truly had a blast. Then, the fun ended. It snowed, and snowed, and snowed. Both my friend and I had to call in to work for a few days and we were stuck… in Nashville. Needless to say, we never made it to Memphis. You see, I was destined to get there, just not during the winter months.
Nashville boasted to be all about the BBQ, but honestly, I am not sure if I believe them. From what I am hearing, Memphis is the place to go for the best BBQ and I would love to give it a try!
Beer. We love beer. We love to try new beers. Memphis is really going out and making a name for themselves on the beer scene. They have craft brews like Ghost River, High Cotton andWiseacre (just opened a taproom and patio in August 2013). Mike and I would be happy to give these beers a try! We would give Memphis all of our beer tasting attention for two days. My only fear is that I will fall in love with a local beer and never find it again. That happened with me and pizza from New York. Do you know how bad it is to crave something you simply can not have?
See this picture of my beautiful family? This is what is considered dates for my husband and I. We don’t ever go out on dates or have time alone together. We love our kids and enjoy spending time with them but I would love to get away with my husband for a little bit and just enjoy each other… without the screaming, crying, and diaper changes!
That about sums up what I know about Memphis. I hear that there would be plenty of things to see and do that would make us both happy. Memphis has a unique atmosphere that appeals to people both funky (like my hubs) and sophisticated (like me). We could get a reprieve from arguing over the remote control for two days if we went to Memphis! It could save our marriage (too much?). Well, it would be fun for us both!
While some people visit exotic destinations for their honeymoon, my husband and I went to a comedy club, in our town, for one evening. Why? We had responsibilities and well, we were broke. We never did get our honeymoon. Heck, we haven’t even been on a vacation in our married lives! On Thursday (the 26th of September), we celebrated our 10th wedding Anniversary! That is a decade together. I think we deserve a belated honeymoon to say, Memphis, don’t you?
If we won this trip, we would be staying in the Peabody Hotel. I am not sure words can describe how much luxury that is compared to what we are used to. I would happily stay in a hotel for two days anywhere, but the Peabody in Memphis, well that is bliss!
See this cutie pie? She is my life. I love her more than anything in this world! But, back in January, she gave me a huge scare! Thankfully, she is doing much better but it seems our lives have been in constant turmoil since then. I won’t go into the details and bore you to death, but let’s just say, we deserve a break! Sing it with me… “Give me a break. Give me a break…”. I’d like to take a break in Memphis!
We’d love to go to Memphis and maybe start something great for our own family!
And last, but most certainly not least…
Need I say more?
Memphis is the hometown of Justin Timberlake and where he owns a golf course called Mirimichi (a place I could possibly visit and eat at if I won this giveaway!) I would just fangirl like crazy to see a concert of this man! Justin Timberlake is not only incredibly talented, but me oh my, he is gorgeous. Going to Memphis to see him would be a dream! Like really, you would need to pinch me to prove it was legit!
I wrote this post in hopes of winning a trip to Memphis to see Justin Timberlake’s show. You can enter too!
One lucky winner will receive the following prize package:
-A two day stay at the famous Peabody Hotel (Nov 17-18)

Hi Stefany! Oh my goodness! We spent two months in Tennessee this past summer and never made it to Memphis… I think we were less than an hour away! Eeekkk…. I had no idea Justin was there or I would have been all over it- lol!
Can I share some local advice that I was given? Don’t venture out at night… I heard Memphis is very dangerous at night. The Tenn locals actually talked us out of going there. I wish I hadn’t let them because there was so much there I wanted to see… I think I will try it again when my kids aren’t so little. Dang it… Justin was there too…. UGH!!!
Happy travels & good luck,
Victoria
