I told Mike last night that this was not going to be a good weight loss week for me. I have not been eating well at all. It isn’t that I have been exceeding my points or eating a bunch of crap. The contrary actually. I haven’t been eating near enough. I have hit a point and I am sick of eating the same food and I need some inspiration. Problem is that if I make something I can eat, the kids won’t. If I make something they will eat, I can’t have it because the points are bad. So, I gave up this week. I consumed about half of my allotted points on Monday through Thursday and even went to bed hungry a few days. This is definitely not good for weight loss. My plan is to do some looking around (especially at Gina’s WW Recipes) and try to come up with some new ideas.
I did walk with my parents once this week but that is all the exercise I did all week. Again, not good… but I really didn’t have the energy (because I wasn’t eating! ugh!). One good thing that came of this week is that I finally got the Weight Watchers Pedometer. It is telling me how many steps I walk in a day and how many Activity Points I get for those steps. I haven’t been tracking daily Activity Points except when I really work out with aerobics or something. This has been a bit of a reality check that I am getting Activity Points each day and if I am not eating enough, I am working against my body to lose weight.
Anyways, the bad news is that I gained 0.5lbs this week.
My measurements are better news:
Hips: loss of 1.5 inches
Waist: loss of 0.5 inch
Bust: loss of 1 inch
I am holding steady with my clothes but some things really are just too big to wear anymore. I generally wear lounge pants (or yoga pants) at home during the day and all of those are getting too big. I don’t want to buy any so I look sloppy most days which is definitely not good for my self-esteem. I have had great luck with Goodwill for jeans but yoga-type pants are harder to come by.
I am happy with my inches but certainly didn’t like to see a gain on the scale. Weight Watchers was not disappointed at all and said that these little gains happen from time to time and not to be concerned with such a small amount regardless. So, I am trying not to be discouraged. Honestly though, I am.
This will serve as my Blog the Weight Away update for Wednesday, March 3rd. In the meantime, be sure to offer encouragement to my teammates!

Reading from your Saturday Sound Off… I have to agree with PP – the inches are the most telling!! Congrats on being on the right track! I still haven’t gotten in gear and started to actively lose the weight I need to – so shout outs to you for doing it!!

Food and weightloss is such a struggle for me too. I hate eating the same things day in and day out. I wish you luck on your weight loss journey.
Julie says
Don’t be discouraged — really! In my journey I had many gain weeks… and I still am a success story. Just remember that you are still losing inches, which is AWESOME!
Have a blessed weekend!

We all struggle at times with fluctuating weight loss/gains. It is the long run that counts..keep up the good work and you will be fine =)

Eating right is a struggle. Since my last baby almost 6 mos ago, my food habits have really gone downhill. At least we all keep trying when we can!

Good evening and TGIF plus FF, a great way to end the week I think. Thanks for stopping by my blog. Life style changes are very hard. I’m finding that out. It’s been two months or very close too but I’m learning.
You are doing good. We all have those days/weeks where it’s almost impossible to do what you know you must. So just start over and keep going.
I’m not doing any certain plan, just going by the seat of my pants with lots of research and trial and error. I have some followers that have been life savers for me.
I’m your newest follower.
Take care and have a very blessed weekend.

I was eager to follow you. Then saw you are Catholic too and am even MORE excited to follow 🙂
Inches- ALWAYS GO WITH THE INCHES!
and the age spacing…it’s only because she is SO HIGH MAINTENANCE. She needs to be entertained 24/7. I only get a break when she has someone else to interact with. So the line of thinking is- have another so they entertain each other. A few friends of mine here with similar high needs kids agree with the doc…I’m just not worrying about it now. We’re not avoiding, but not actively trying either 🙂
thanks for the advice!

Awesome! I am glad you came over.
Be forewarned… a high maintenance child may become worse with the introduction of another child. haha! Good luck with whatever happens. God has a plan. 🙂

There was something positive tho (the inches lost!!!) Perhaps you can take this as a challenge to do better the next time instead of getting discouraged 🙂 Goodluck!!!

Thank you for the encouragement!

I totally know what you mean with making stuff the kids like and you can’t eat and making stuff you can but they don’t like. I now make two meals every night, a bit more work but so worth it. I have to make really high calorie meals for my husband who is 5’11 and just shy of 128 lbs and low calorie for me who *cough* is a LOT more than that haha. Just have to find a balance and make sure ya eat girl. I think you’ve done great so far and shouldn’t feel discouraged!!
Stefany says
Thanks Amanda! I appreciate the encouragement!
