LeapFrog Digital Camera review and giveaway

My kids are always interested in what I have. There is only so much I can share though and my beloved camera is not one of them. So, when I found out about the very cool LeapFrog camera available, I was so excited! Now, my kids could have a camera all of their own and leave mine alone. Win/Win!!

The LeapFrog Talking Digital Camera is so fun that even my 15 month old is interested in it (although it is recommended for age 4 and up). Johnny has mastered this camera with no problems. He enjoys that it talks to him when he takes his pictures and I love that the talking makes teaching him how to use it even easier than it already is… which is really easy!

There is a 1.5″ preview screen that shows a pretty good picture of what you are about to take capture. It is lightweight and has an easy grip design for small children. It also has a built in flash that makes takes the guesswork out of picture taking for kids.

Included with the camera is Leap n’ Learn photo editing software that is super fun to play with. Your child can edit their own photos into what they like for many hours of entertainment. I know one of my favorite things to do is edit photos and now my kids can do the same but with lots more fun!

Johnny loves this camera so much and has so much fun taking pictures of everything in the house. My only complaint is that the shutter speed is a bit slow. I have taught Johnny to hold the camera still until Leap tells him “nice shot” and then the photo isn’t blurry. There are times though that he is eager to see the picture he took and moves the camera too fast. We (sadly) have dropped this camera and it is standing up to the abuse with no problems. It is very easy to use and Johnny has learned how to view photos and power it on and off with no difficulty. I would recommend this camera to others despite the shutter speed issue simply because it is so fun and with a little teaching, the problems are few. The camera works best with good lighting (as do most) but can take photos in dim light (you may have some overexposed photos though). Sometimes I wish my camera would tell me I took a great photo like this LeapFrog one does… a little encouragement is good for the mind. I love that LeapFrog thought about that and knows how important it is to encourage little minds.
