I am not kidding. This was the longest weekend ever.
The weekend was filled with a lot of family time which is the only reason I think I survived. Fireworks, food, and some rain mixed in filled up the rest of the time. Oh and heat… and by heat I mean very, very hot weather. Not only hot but humid as well.
I live in St Louis where swimming pool setup and AC installation and repair are common to see. Being pregnant, I find the heat exhausting. The humidity makes me want to curl up and go to sleep. The kids don’t seem bothered by it near as much as anyone else which makes for some creative excuse-making on my part.
I love my kids but I can’t go outside during the day. I am more than happy to head outdoors once the evening comes around and the sun is not beating down on us. The problem I am having is what to do with the kids during the day to keep them both busy and happy that doesn’t require a trip somewhere further than our living room.
What are you doing to keep busy with the kids this hot summer? I feel that the kids may be getting a bit bored with coloring, watching movies, and hanging out with their very pregnant and heat-exhausted mommy.

I think it’s going to be a hot summer for everyone. I know that I wouldn’t want to be out in it being pregnant. Hopefully you will be able to keep them busy inside.
