I am going to admit something to you… I have never heard of CatDog. But, when I asked my husband if he had, he said that he most certainly had and that it was “good” and he thought our son would like it. So, when asked if I wanted a review copy, I decided to give it a try. I am sure glad that I did because CatDog has been a huge hit in my house since its arrival. CatDog aired on Nickelodeon from 1998 until 2001 for a total of 4 seasons so I am surprised that I don’t know it but it must have missed my cartoon radar at that time. The reruns have been on Nickelodeon up until 2011 but still no one in my house has caught a glimpse. That isn’t stopping my son now though!
A fan favorite, CatDog: Season One – Part One, is a tale of opposites attached starring CatDog, the most unlikely brother duo ever seen. The conjoined brothers love each other yet they are so different, they can’t help but annoy themselves silly with their contrarian activities. Prim and proper, Cat is the very definition of culture, while Dog is the ultimate tail-wagging, sofa-jumping, car-chasing roughneck. But despite their very different personalities, CatDog are the best of friends, sticking to one another — literally — through thick and thin, even when it comes to facing off against their devious neighbor Winslow and the rough ’n’ tough gang of Greaser Dogs!
As I said, Johnny has been a huge fan ever since the arrival of CatDog in our house. He laughs out loud and even Joley has been interested. If you have a teen or tween that remembers CatDog, I recommend this set to you. But, even if you don’t have a kiddo that remembers this funny show, you still might have a fan. This would make a great gift this holiday season!
CatDog Season 1: Part 1 is available in stores now. A must have for fans of Nickelodeon, cartoon fanatics and DVD collectors, the two-disc DVD set has a suggested retail price of $19.93.
