I love giving back to those in need. It doesn’t take much, you know, to make a huge difference in the life of someone else. Each year, my son’s school takes donations to help kids in need. They want to make sure children in Belize (our sister church is there) have the supplies they need to succeed. While the children do have a chance at an education, they are not usually able to purchase supplies to make their learning experience better. The teachers all collect supplies and then a group heads to Belize with all the supplies in tow. I have never been on a trip, but I hear it absolutely fantastic and the joy on the faces of the children just to get school supplies is mind-blowing.
When we were asked if wanted to join the Elmer’s Bag It Forward campaign, I was game. Now we are able to do what we would have done anyway and I can share a fabulous endeavor from Elmer’s with you!
We started our trip at Walmart.
Find the Elmer’s 1st Day of School sign where school supplies list are located. You can scan the QR code and get the Elmer’s 1st Day App just like that!
I started looking for supplies needed for the kids in Belize as well as for our kids. I have two kids in school again with a variety of different needs. Elmer’s has a number of very neat supplies out there.
This is really great for posters and projects! I have been using it for my own school work.
Glue stick anyone?
My personal favorite! Look at these glitter glues!!!
It seemed to take hours (as is the case when you have 4 kids in Walmart in school supplies) but we were able to get almost all of our supplies bought!
All on the conveyor belt. We are *almost* finished!
Let’s talk more about the 1st Day App for Elmer’s, shall we??? This is a super fun app that gives you the opportunity to store and share those 1st day of school photos. You can categorize your children, share your memories with others, and is even good for teachers! For fun, you can add quotes or captions. I think being able to have those precious first day pictures in one place is a blessing.
Screenshot 1. Create an account and then simply you sign in with each visit.
Screenshot 2. All you need is here to create memorable pictures that will last a lifetime!
What makes it even better is that for every photo uploaded, Elmer’s will donate one product to The Kids in Need Foundation (KINF) (up to 200,000 products). That means that by simply taking a photo and creating a memory that will last forever, you can help other kids! What a win/win situation if I have ever heard one. I mean really, who wouldn’t want to help other kids get quality school supplies simply by taking pictures?
Want to hear another win/win about the 1st Day App??? On the 1st Day App page, you can enter for a chance to win a trip for four (4) to Orlando. Brought to you by Walmart and X-ACTO Designer Series, this sounds like a perfect vacation after spending time in the back to school aisles!
Okay, one more fun thing with the app…. you can receive a free 5 x 7 Photo from the Walmart Photo Center in August from the photos you uploaded on the 1st Day App! Just visit the Walmart Photo Department in-store or online at Walmart.com/photo for details.
Our donation for Bag It Forward is ready to go!
Now it was time to donate those supplies to the kids in Belize. Heading up to my son’s school and turning them in was a joy!
My son was so excited to give kids in need school supplies!
