This post is harder to write than most. You see, I didn’t do so well in my 3rd week. I can give you all the reasons, like I had hand surgery and that I didn’t eat that day, but the truth is that I simply didn’t follow the plan. The Jenny Craig system works because it is set and, if you follow it, you will succeed. I believe that fully now.
When I went to my week 3 weigh in, I knew that I was going to gain. I just knew. I ate out twice and didn’t even eat but one meal on the day of my hand surgery. I fully believe that I didn’t lose weight in the past because I didn’t eat enough and I immediately fell back into that pattern when I was hurting. Grabbing food was easiest during my recovery when I couldn’t open packages. It was a bad thing all around. I gained 5 pounds.
I followed the plan again for my 4th week. I wanted to see some change, and not in the upward motion on the scale. I was so happy to see that I had lost 7.6 pounds!** I lost all of my weight from the previous week plus 2.6 more. This is why I knew that the plan works… when you follow it! For week 5, I have decided to plan my own menu because there are some meals I like more than others. Once you try the set meal plans, I suggest doing this! I have tried all the foods on the plan now (besides those that I can’t eat like seafood) and I want to eat the things that I know I will enjoy now!
I have lost a total of 15.8 pounds now! That is an amazing feeling.
I also wanted to share with you today another thing I love about Jenny Craig. My consultant, Casie, is so great, as is the others at my center. They have my back, even when I am not doing well on the plan. We talked, she encouraged me, and I left not feeling horrible about myself but with a renewed hope and belief that I could succeed.
My picture is up on the wall for others to see. Yes, on one hand that is embarrassing because I am not happy with how I look. But, on the other, it is great to know that I am there to show that I am trying and that I am not alone in this journey. I may not know the others but they can see that I am doing this with them. We are on the weight loss journey together, even as strangers. It feels great to have support in the form of these ladies at the center and I know the others that go there are rooting for me as much as I am for them.
All those that think that they can’t lose weight, I encourage you to try Jenny Craig. It has been a life-changer for me. My clothes fit better and I am even wearing things I haven’t been able to in some time. I am at the lowest weight I have been in several years.
