I was invited to a local Toys ‘R Us today to visit with Chris Byrnes, The Toy Guy (from Time To Play Mag) to learn about some hot toys for this coming holiday season! Not only that, but I was able to spend some time with some other local bloggers (which I LOVE doing, by the way). In attendance was Robyn of RobynsOnlineWorld, Danyelle from TheCubicleChick, Danielle from ExtraordinaryMommy, Lisa from StLFamilyLife, Hannah from sKIDmarking, and Kaylie from Litzky PR.
It was so much fun to see the toys that are guaranteed to be popular this year AND get to play with them! I saw several things that my kids will have on their list and some that would make great gifts. Below you will see a few of the ones we saw.
Johnny has been talking about this Bigfoot for quite some time now. He loves it in the store. I actually was able to see him up close, and despite the too-close-to-real hair (it is like REAL hair!), I think he is pretty neat myself.
Johnny will also think Stinky the Garbage Truck is pretty great. Stinky is an interactive truck, but also can be used as a push toy.
Chris told us that there will be several “exclusives” this year so be on the lookout for those at your favorite stores. This one is exclusive to Toys ‘R Us.
One of my favorite toys that we saw today were these cute guys. They are called Singamajigs and they are something that I knew my baby girl and son would love. They sing and harmonize. Too cute!
Finally, a toy that I think will be popular with older kids and adults alike is Scrabble Flash. This seems like it would be really fun. What I like about it is that, when you are finished, it tells you how many words you got right and how many you could have got!
It was a great time today and I am thankful to Kaylie and Chris for inviting me to come along!
(sorry for the quality of my photos… they were taken from my Blackberry which doesn’t have a very clear camera anymore.)
