You have to go back some in my family history to find a true left handed person. My grandma was left-handed but it skipped my dad, my sister and me. My mom is right handed as well. My husband is right handed but does a few things left handed (like golf). I was surprised when my son Johnny started in preschool and chose his left hand.
It has kind of been a learning experience for me to teach him things. He bats left in baseball and it is hard for me to swing with him when instructing. He actually throws right but can actually do well either way. The hardest thing will be happening this year as he learns to write cursive. I have been down the road of cursive before with a left-hander and it is difficult. Thankfully, Johnny is a very smart kid and I am sure he will do just fine, despite the problems his left handed nature throws our way.
Happy Left Hander’s Day Johnny!
What about you? Do you write with your left or right hand? Can you use both well?
