This post is part of the HEALTHY ESSENTIALS® 2014 program by Johnson & Johnson Consumer Companies, Inc. and The Motherhood, who sent me a box of products and compensated me for my time. Opinions, experiences and photos shared here are all my own, and I hope you enjoy them.
We have had a fun summer so far in the Thode household and have taken along some Healthy Essentials with each new adventure. We started it off by heading to the lake and getting some rest and relaxation. It was so nice to get away from the hustle and bustle of our daily lives and just be on the lake. I spent some time with my parents, got some sun, went on the boat, and just enjoyed the time with my babies.
The kids really enjoyed fishing on the dock and even managed to catch a few!
What? You don’t fish in a dress? haha!
At home we’ve been haven some fun too! The kids have been swimming in their pool quite a bit. Jemma isn’t as big a fan as the other two but she does like to stand on the side and yell at them for splashing her. She is quite the little diva!
One thing that is common with all of our summer activities is that I am prepared for the unexpected. Jemma can’t seem to go anywhere without falling and hurting her poor knees. They are starting to heal up now but the poor baby has had more Band-Aids on her knees than both of my other kids combined. I make sure to clean the area well, apply Neosporin, and then put a Band-Aid on her ouchies. These two things seem to make her feel better and I am confident that she won’t have any infections from her mishaps.
The other thing I always have on hand is sunscreen. I use the Neutrogena Wet Skin for the kids and Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry Touch for myself. The kids are always so busy and the spray sunscreen works great on them. They can sweat or get wet and it keeps on working. It is convenient to use and takes no time to get them ready for the sun. I just make sure to not get it in their face and avoid spraying when it is windy. For myself, I love the Ultra Sheer Dry Touch by Neutrogena. It goes on smooth and soft and is perfect for my face and body. I have had no problems with clogged pores either which is a common problem with other sunscreens I have used on my face!
