It happens every year. As soon as school supplies start coming out, the dreams begin. I know this is a common dream among adults but it causes me to have stress often. At least once a week, I am going back to high school.
My locker moved each year. My high school had a hall for each grade. Freshman and Sophomores were upstairs and Juniors and Seniors downstairs. We had to buy our locks from the school each year. We were on a rotating schedule that I kept posted in my locker.
My dreams always start the same. I am at school and can’t remember which of my school lockers I am supposed to go to. I walk around upset trying to figure out why the combination doesn’t work on any of the lockers. I know I am going to be late for my classes because without going to my locker, I can’t figure out what class I am going to go to. I start to panic.
I even head to the gym lockers to try and see if I can find a solution… which is funny because we never even used those. They were gross… just sayin’. Nothing. Nada. It never seems odd that no one else is around. It never occurs to me to go to the office to try to find out where I am supposed to be. All I know is that I am going to be in big trouble.
At this point, I always wake up. I don’t ever get to where I am supposed to be going. I keep having the same dream over and over though… and never make it to class. The best part? I never missed a class when I was in high school. I didn’t always know where to go, but my friends always made sure I was taken care of.
Do you have any frequent dreams about high school? I know my mom has one similar about finding her locker and I have heard several people with the same. I am curious… do any of you?

I get these dreams a lot. They are usually me trying to find my locker which I can not find it because the numbers change and not being able to find my classes for whatever reason. Sometimes my real HS classmates will also have to repeat too, but not always, sometimes I will be late getting there. The building that I was in has been torn down since I really graduated HS almost 20 years ago. Yes sometimes my classes are in the newer building. This happens all year long, even in the summertime.

I have this dream very often. I’ve attended college but yet to acquire my degree. Which is maybe my problem in having this dream all the time because I know I need to finish school. I am dreaming I am in high school and I either can’t figure out what class I am going to next or have apparently missed so much school I don’t remember for that reason. I always feel I am sooo far behind giving me anxiety and whenever I go to my locker I can barely remember my combination. I often find or obviously dream I go to the office to get my school schedule and locker combination…. 🙁

I have a recurring dream really similar to this…Except mine is always that I can’t remember my combination and then can’t remember which class to go to. Super freaky.
Sorry I woke up your hamster over there…I just couldn’t help it. He’s cute.

I have this dream a lot! Another close is I can’t find my classes or don’t have a schedule and am too scared to go to the office.
