The Other Side of Giveaways

I recently wrote a post about Tips for Hosting Giveaways.  There are two sides to every situation and Jennifer from Eighty MPH Mom wrote a great post on how to win graciously.

If you don’t run giveaways, you may not realize how much work and time goes into those posts.  We, as review and giveaway bloggers, love to do it.  Believe me, we wouldn’t do it if we didn’t enjoy it.  But, Jennifer hit on some key points that are certainly worth looking at as a giveaway winner.

Know that I appreciate all of you and am so happy to be able to offer giveaways that you enjoy.  You all make blogging so much fun for me.  I love checking my email and seeing the nice replies to non-giveaway posts and the excitement some of you show when you win.  It really does make my day to bring a smile to someone’s face!

I agree with Jen’s post. I always say thanks and do my best to let a blogger know when my prize arrives. I have not been lucky enough to win from you yet but when I do I will be gracious!!! 🙂 Have a great rest of the weekend!

I really enjoyed both posts. I can’t imagine someone winning and not saying thank you! I would rather just enter giveaways than do reviews. I really don’t want to put the time and energy into it! I admire everyone who does do reviews and giveaways.

Oh, and another thing I really like is when the blogger specifies whether or not the entries are limited to one per household. A giveaway blog I frequent often says, “Tell your spouse/significant other to enter, too!” It’s nice to know if that’s breaking the rules or not.

I love Jen’s post! She hit on so many good points. It bugs me when people don’t say thank you and I am surprised that many winners don’t 🙁

I do enjoy entering them. I don’t do as many as I use to because they are time consuming but I do realize all the time that goes into everyone posting them. Thank you.

I missed that post on Jen’s blog, going to check it out. We have to love what we do because really, it is A LOT of work. People think the review products are free, but we spend a lot of time testing, writing the post, promoting the giveaways, selecting the winner and communicating with PR.

It is very much a “job” sometimes. But, it is fun at the same time!

      Thanks for stopping by Michelle!

I have to ask, are you using a plugin that emails me when you respond on the blog? I am looking for something similar for my own blog.

Yep! This is what it is called:
          Wordpress Thread Comment
          (http://blog.2i2j.com/plugins/wordpress-thread-comment)

Also, since you are on WP now, you might want to install this one too for your giveaway people. I just learned about this but it is good!
