Today marks the beginning of week 2 with a migraine. I think I have discovered what the problem is but there is no immediate end in sight. I literally have a headache from the moment I open my eyes until I am sleeping. Sounds like fun, doesn’t it?
I last had my eyes checked when Johnny was an infant, probably younger than Joley is now. My eye sight is really not that bad and I have always had little problems seeing, even without my glasses. I have glasses for distance and night driving.
Well, laying in bed a few nights ago, I popped open my left eye (right was covered with pillow) and was surprised that I can’t see well. My clock, which is no more than 3 feet away, was blurry and I couldn’t make out the time. Very interesting…
I sat up and closed my left eye. There wasn’t near the difference but I wasn’t able to see as well out of my right eye either. Tried the left again, still blurry. Then I opened both my eyes well and bam! Headache!!!!
Seriously, just that quick I had a headache. So, I believe the culprit of these nasty migraines is my eyesight; likely changed due to pregnancy. I have tried to wear my glasses more but the prescription must be off so bad that they don’t help and really only seem to make the problem worse.
I have no health insurance and getting your eyes tested is quite expensive. Sadly, I think I may have a headache for awhile longer. I was hoping to have this all figured out by the time school starts (1 week!!) but that is now doubtful.
Do you get migraines? How do you deal with them? My biggest issue right now with all this is that I can’t take traditional migraine medicine because of breastfeeding (and cost) so I am relying on Advil… which just isn’t doing the job.
