I am one of those big nerds (according to my 16yo) that loves school. As each day passes, I am one day closer to starting school and it excites me! I am waiting on pins and needles for my books to come so that I can see what I am going to be learning and start to peruse my books. I get excited thinking about all the different aspects of Nursing I will learn about and how I will be given a chance to use my mind for things other than Dora Nintendo games and Sophomore English class. As much as I love helping my kids with things, I need to be able to think on my own and about things that are important and interesting to ME.
Not only school though. I shouldn’t have said I love school because it is so much more than that. I love learning… all kinds of learning. I have on occasion signed up for classes at the community college on various things (one was Feng Shui) and plan on taking those again. I really want to take a cake decorating class.
I went to a lecture (of sorts) last night at my Church. The priest discussed our role as women in the Church and how the Spirit fills us. I loved it. I loved hearing about things that I don’t fully understand and have it presented to me in a way it never has been before. There is going to be an entire series starting in October that I am going to attend that will be similar. It will discuss why we (should) love our religion and how it is part of our lives. This will be great for me because I get a lot of questions for Mason and Mackenzie about Church and my religion and this series (called Inspire) will be a resource to help me answer their questions.
I am also signing up for the MOMs group at Church. I hope I am not spreading myself too thin with school, but I want to try. I not only need the interaction, I need the guidance. I need to learn.
