My kids love music. And really, what kid doesn’t love music? But, I am not a musically inclined person at all. I have no piano, guitar, or any other instrument abilities. I still would love my kids to learn and love music through. Thanks to The Tuneables, children aged 3 to 8 are introduced to the magical world of Tuneville, where the Tuneables characters encourage kids to hear and sing tonal patterns in songs, develop their rhythmic skills, expand the range of their singing voices, and become immersed in the sounds and melodies of classical music.
I wasn’t sure how Johnny and Joley would take to the DVD and CD. But, I quickly learned that they were more interested than I originally thought. The DVD requires active participation and my kids truly did get involved. They were able to “hear it, do it, and name it” making the whole process both fun and educational. Each character resembles a musical instrument and my kids found one that they seemed to like the most.
And me? I don’t have to worry about my lack of music skills. There is a downloadable companion guide that helps me know what the kids are learning and how to expand that learning.
The Tuneables indcluding a DVD and Music Box CD 2-disc set is available online for $29.99. Downloadable versions, including HD, are also available. A Music Box CD is sold separately for only $14.99 by download.
The Tuneables is sponsored by the Music Intelligence Project (MIP), which promotes the best approaches to music education for children. It brings together many people, including musicians, educators, and more to support the design and development of the best available products for educating young children in music.
If you want to introduce a new fun and educational activity into your children’s lives, I encourage you to check out The Tuneables. The CD (and DVD) would be fantastic for those car rides when your kids are rowdy and needing some activity. Pop the CD (or DVD if you have a player) in and let them have fun!
