Joley was fussing and I went upstairs at 9:30p to give her the paci back. She fell asleep. I came downstairs and hung out for a bit… then went to bed at 11p. I was expecting her to get up soon so I watched some tv and relaxed. I fell asleep.
I woke up at 2:50am to the sound of her fussing. My first reaction was to reach over. I wasn’t fully awake but realized that it wasn’t a baby next to me but her monitor. She was in her bed. Still. A-maz–ing.
She hasn’t slept longer than an hour in her bed since birth. Seriously. I cosleep, which I love, but I also know that she needs to get some bedtime routine soon. I am going to try to get her in her bed around 9p every night (that is when she is routinely tired) and go to bed on my own until she wakes up. I brought her to bed at 3a and nursed her back to sleep. She slept until 7a.
My only regret is not going to bed earlier so I could get more rest. I am going to learn from that mistake though.
I hope it wasn’t a fluke and this is something she will continue to do. Please, let this be a normal thing now. Promising news… she is napping in her own bed right now!
