As many of you know, I am on a weight loss mission. I have joined up with 4BabyAndMom for a new challenge called Blog the Weight Away. There are several teams all working together to lose weight, gain self-esteem, and change their lives. Above are my two team members and I would love it if you would stop by and visit them. I have asked you all for your support and encouragement over the past few weeks, and I am asking again. This time, though, I am asking for my team members as well. Don’t forget about the other teams either. Head over to 4BabyAndMom for a list of all the teams.
This is my introduction post for the challenge so here you go…
I am Stefany, a 33 year old mommy of 5. My youngest baby is 1 year old and the oldest stepchild is 16. I got on the scale at the end of 2009 and decided it was time for a change. I have tried several times to lose weight and have always given up. Not this time!
I have a large amount of weight to lose. I refuse, at this point, to focus on the total because that is the reason I have quit before. I am going with small amounts. For right now, I am focusing on losing 15 pounds (from the start of my diet on 1/1/10). I currently am on Weight Watchers Online and counting points daily. I also work out with my 16yo daughter on the Wii (usually EAS Active) several times a week. I can’t wait for the weather to get better so I can walk around the neighborhood with my mom.
You may be asking yourself why this time is different. Why would I stick to losing weight after so many failed attempts? Because I have to. It isn’t a matter of wanting to lose weight anymore. I need to for my health. As of now, there haven’t been any side effects to my weight but it is only a matter of time. I want to be here for my children. I want to be happy with myself. I want to be able to walk with my head held high and not be ashamed. I want my kids to be proud of me.
I haven’t told them this outright, but my parents are a huge inspiration to me. They both have lost weight recently and look fantastic. I am so proud of them and want them to be proud of me as well.
You can find any posts related to my weight loss journey under the categories button on the navigation bar. I would love it if you would check in on me from time to time and help me be accountable. At this point, I am not willing to share my weight or measurements on here but I will tell you of changes, hopefully all in the negative! The weigh-in day for the challenge is on Wednesday each week, but you will get the results from my Friday Weight Watchers weigh-in if you see the linky on 4BabyAndMom. As of right now, I am down 7.3 pounds in the past two weeks!
I am supposed to include a before picture. The one above is from Christmas-time. I decided for the other “before” pics, I would start doing the same thing each time. So, these were taken today in my daughter’s room. I know the quality is horrible and I will work on that, but for now, this is what you get. 🙂

from someone who is in the same boat, I wish you the best of luck. Now at 50 yrs I waited to long to keep mine better under control and have High Blood pressure and a thyroid condition from it and if I don’t get mine better under control diabetes type II will be next, and my 28yr old daughter has had type I since 8yrs old so I know what thats like from her eyes and don’t want that added health issue. And a day at time is the only road to take or the path is too long. So best of luck to you!

Awesome job already!!! I have to say that having the Wii has been the way to go for me…I have also given up several times, and mostly it was due to having to go to a gym to exercise…I have been using the wii for the past year and have stuck with it. There were some times I didnt work out for a week…but then got back into it. Keep up with those goals and you will get to the final one!
