I’m way past the time that I should be taking care of my skin. For years I’ve just been washing my face with Cetaphil cleanser and calling it a day. It’s time I’ve started taking better care of my skin. I’ve watched hours of videos with recommendations and I’ve talked to experts and this is what I’ve started doing.
I start by cleansing with Cerave Foaming Facial Cleanser. This is a highly recommended cleanser because of the ceramides and Niacinamide in it. Plus it is fragrance free. I really like it! Sometimes I use Simple Micellar Water Cleanser in the morning. It’s light and pure.
Next I apply The Ordinary Argireline to my fine lines. I don’t have many but there are a few on my forehead and one around my right eye.
The I apply The Ordinary Alpha Arbutin to my dark spots. I have sun spots from years of damage. I wish I could go back and kick myself for not wearing sunscreen.
Next I dampen my face with a mister and apply The Ordinary Hylauronic Acid all over. It is really sticky so I’m going to be looking for a new kind when it is gone. This is good for hydration. My skin is usually normal (not dry or oily) but sometimes it gets a little dry so the hydration is nice.
I follow up with a moisturizer. I sometimes use Cerave Moisturizing Cream. It’s good for my skin type. I do have a sample size of Biossance Squalane and Probiotic Gel Moisturizer that I adore. It goes on so smooth and light. It’s a small sample though so I don’t use it often. At night, instead of those, I use Cerave PM facial moisturizing lotion. It has the ceramides and Niacinamide in it that is good for my skin.
I follow up with sunscreen during the day. I haven’t found one I love. The Cerave Spf 30 leaves a white cast so I’m not a huge fan of that. I do have the Australian Gold Mineral Spf and it has a tint which is nice but doesn’t really provide any coverage. It’s just okay. I’ve tried Sun Bum Mineral tinted spf as well but it’s pretty greasy. Basically, this is a struggle in my routine right now. Do you have any suggestions?
This is what I’m doing now. I know I want to add Retinol in the evening due to my age and it’s benefits. I haven’t been able to find one in stock that I can afford. Do you have any suggestions for that too?
What does your skincare routine look like? What do you think of mine?
